THE TRICKSTER

The figure of the Trickster appears in myths and folk tales throughout the world. Always cunning and often devious, trickster characters are often the driving force behind their stories. Intricately interwoven into the scheme of the Viking myths are tales of the trickster Loki.

Loki has all the hutzpa of the greatest tricksters like Spider Ananse, like Coyote, or even like Brer Rabbit. He has charm and arrogance but, although he makes the running in many of the stories, he often comes off worst.
